Annual Energy Consumption—

Estimates assume constant power consumption and 365 days of usage per year. Monthly estimates use 365 ÷ 12 days. Actual consumption and utility charges may vary.

How is electricity cost calculated?

Electricity is billed in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Divide the appliance's wattage by 1,000, multiply by hours used, then multiply by your electricity price per kWh.

Daily Cost = (Watts ÷ 1,000) × Hours × Electricity Rate × Number of Devices

Example: Running a 1,500-watt space heater

A 1,500-watt heater running four hours per day at $0.16 per kWh costs approximately $0.96 per day, or $350.40 per year.

How can you reduce electricity costs?

Compare efficient appliances, reduce unnecessary operating hours, and check your utility bill for your actual electricity rate. Devices with variable power consumption may use less energy than their maximum wattage suggests.
